Description
Recreate the excitement of a NASA Artemis rocket launch with the LEGO Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket (42221). Developed in collaboration with NASA and ESA, this detailed STEM-focused model lets builders explore the launch system designed to send the Orion spacecraft toward lunar orbit.
The model demonstrates the rocket’s separation process in three stages using a hand crank. First, the solid rocket boosters separate from the core stage. The core stage then detaches, followed by separation of the upper stage, which includes the engine module, Orion spacecraft and launch abort system.
The 632-piece set also includes four astronaut nanofigures, blue flame details and an information panel that adds to the display. When assembled with the rocket positioned on top, the model measures over 70 cm high, 16 cm long and 8 cm wide.
Designed for ages 9 and up, the set can also be built with help from the LEGO Builder app, which provides interactive 3D instructions, allowing builders to zoom in, rotate the model and track their progress.
